Dripping Springs Lone Star Farmer’s Market

 

When: Saturday, January 11 from 4pm to 8pm, January 18 from 4pm to 8pm

 

Where: Treaty Oak Distilling, 16604 Fitzhugh Rd, Dripping Springs, TX

 

Why: Dripping Springs has so many great farmers, ranchers, and local producers, it would be a shame to not take advantage of an even that puts them all in one place. The Lone Star Farmer’s Market is a bi-weekly event hosted at the picturesque Treaty Oak Distillery. There, you can get goods and merch from local growers int he Dripping Springs area. The event is sponsored by TX Artisan.

The Best Little Film Series in Texas Showings at Desert Door, Fridays

 

When: January 10 at 7pm and January 24 at 7pm.

 

Where: Desert Door Distillery, 211 Darden Hill Rd, Driftwood, TX 78619

 

Why: The Best Little Film Series in Texas celebrates great cinema that was made in or is about the State of Texas. Each film receives an introduction and historical context from host Zackary Stover. Attendees can get nice cocktails from the bar, enjoy complimentary popcorn and more. This month, the Desert Door is showing Rhinestone Cowboy (1/10) and Dazed and Confused (1/24). Dripping Springs Farmer’s Market – Every Wednesday

 

When: Every Wednesday from 3 – 6pm

 

Where: The Triangle at Veteran’s Memorial Park,  151 E Mercer St, Dripping Springs, TX 78620

 

Why: Want to get top-of-the-line, locally-sourced produce and meats right in town? The Dripping Springs Farmer’s Market is your best bet. Snack on some local fare while you shop the great selection our local farmer’s have to offer. This even is held weekly on Wednesday afternoons from 3 – 6pm.

Texas Wine Growers Tasting Series: Vineyard Designated Wines

 

When: Sun, January 12, 2020, 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM CST

 

Where: Hawk’s Shadow Estate Winery, 7500 McGregor Lane, Dripping Springs, TX 78620

 

Why: This event promises a whopping 16 wines from 16 Texas growers, most of which are based around the Dripping Springs area. They’re showcasing only estate wines, meaning that those wines are made entirely of grapes grown, processed, and fermented in the area. Featured wineries include: Calais Winery, Hawk’s Shadow Winery, Lewis Wines, Lost Draw Cellars, Perissos Vineyard and Winery, Pontotoc Vineyard, Westcave Cellars and William Chris Vineyards. Hays County Livestock Show Buyers Gala

 

When: January 18 from 7 – 10pm

 

Where: Dripping Springs Ranch Park & Event Center, 1042 Event Center Dr, Dripping Springs, TX 78620

 

Why: This adults-only event is a thank you for all those who have supported the Hays County Livestock show in 2019, or plan to in 2020. The casino themed event will feature food, drinks, music. Tickets are required if you spent less than $500 at the HCLE Auction this year. Get your tickets to the event.

Meet the Makers Event at Jester King Brewery: Barton Springs Mill

 

When: Sat, January 25, 2020, 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM CST

 

Where: The Hall at Jester King Brewery, 13187 Fitzhugh Road, Austin, TX 78736

 

Why: This event put on by tasteMAKERS is a unique opportunity to meet and learn from those who have made something from scratch. This month’s event, sponsored by brands like Easy Tiger, Sour Duck, Treaty Oak, and Lick Ice Creams, features Barton Springs Mill founder, James Brown. He’ll talk about his process, his product, and put on a cooking demo with his grain.
