The newly renovated Mercer Street Warehouse District is a retail area with ample space to walk and enjoy the sites, a variety of retail stores and a relaxing, shaded courtyard with seating. The name connotes the history of the buildings, which were originally constructed as warehouses. Today the Mercer Street Warehouse District has been beautifully updated to house separate retail spaces, referred to as “Suites.” With a total of 17,452 sq. ft., the listing agent, Dean Erickson confirmed all of the retail spaces are occupied with the exception of the former dance hall. Mercer St. Art is a gallery owned by multi-media artist Nina Mihm. The gallery showcases the works of resident artists’ in the spacious 2,000 sq ft gallery. Mercer Street Art intends to feature DSISD students’ talents in a designated area of the gallery. The space includes a dedicated workshop area designated for classes, events, and gatherings. Their Grand Opening is Thursday, Nov, 21 from 5-7. Revel Wilde and Farmhouse Cortale are among the existing retail businesses in the district.
The Warehouse District has great growth potential, with an acre of city-owned land designated to the District. This land has yet to be developed and is currently being prepared for a future project.
