Now through January 5, 2020: Johnson City Lights Spectacular

The twinkliest town in the Hill Country celebrates its 30th annual Lights Spectacular. “For the last 30 years, Johnson City transforms itself from a slow-paced, presidential hometown nestled on the banks of the Pedernales River, into a bright beacon of light like a guiding star welcoming visitors with good old-fashioned Christmas cheer. “ The square comes alive with festive lights, nativity scenes and lit trees. Over 100,000 lights are draped on Johnson City’s Blanco County Courthouse alone! This is good old-fashioned family fun and it is pet-friendly. Explore Johnson City’s downtown merchants, vendors, art galleries and restaurants. Admission is free. ​​This event also features tractor-pulled hayrides and horse-drawn carriage rides. Click here.

December 4: All the Jingle Ladies

The Boutiques of Historic Dripping Springs invites “all the jingle ladies” for a night of “bow-tiquing,” featuring themed cocktails and special deals. “Sips and savories served at each shop!” Tickets come with a free wine glass. 5-9 p.m. $10.00 per person. Around Mercer Street featuring: Vintage Soul, Fresh Native, JAM Boutique, Starrs on Mercer, Farmhouse Cortale, Drippin’ Pickins’ and The Rural Home and Table. December 7: Christmas on Mercer Street

The 15th Annual Christmas on Mercer Street will come alive on Saturday, December 7 from 10 am to 5 pm! This festive tradition will feature a grand appearance by Santa Claus at 10 am. Photos with Santa will be held from 10-2. Christmas on Mercer is a hometown tradition where historical Mercer Street and the downtown area transform into a charming, holiday festival. The event features seasonal shopping, arts and crafts booths, live entertainment, a petting zoo, trackless train, pony rides, children’s activities and more. The live entertainment schedule is:

  • 11 am to Noon – Doug & George
  • Noon to 1 pm – Buzz and the Blue Cats
  • 1 pm to 2 pm – Double Daisy
  • 2 pm to 2:30 pm – Dripping Springs Youth Orchestra
  • 2:30 pm to 3 pm – Dripping Springs High School Orchestra
  • 3 pm to 4 pm – Head to Toe Dance Studio
  • 4 pm to 5 pm – Tommy Mojica and the Dripping Strings
The annual Lighting of the Tree will be held at the Triangle (also known as Veterans Memorial Park at E. Mercer Street, Ranch Road 12 and Hwy 290) at dusk. The festival admission is FREE to the public. Hosted by the Dripping Springs Lions Club and the City of Dripping Springs. Click here.

December 8: Kris Kringle Market

Meet Santa and listen to carols at 12 Fox Beer Co.’s holiday event. 12:00 pm – 7:00 pm ‘Tis the Season to be JOLLY! So spread some joy with the whole family for a fun-filled day at 12 Fox with activities the entire gang can enjoy! Meet and get your photo taken with Santa (12-4 pm), enjoy live Christmas carolers (from 1-3 pm), have your face painted with Face Painting by Arvis (1-3 pm), and get creative with seasonal kids craft projects, games (12-4 pm) and cool prizes. Shop at the Hoppy Holidaze Pop Up Market! Donate to Hays Co. Brown Santa Food & Toy Drive starting November 1st! During our Kris Kringle Market, try one of our house-made delicious treats.
 
Lunch and Dinner options will be available at our favorite on-site food trucks. 12 Fox is kid & dog-friendly – We have an awesome playscape for the kiddos plus fun board and yard games including corn hole, giant ‘beer’ pong, and an XL Jenga! December 10: Austin Trail of Lights Grand Opening

The 55th annual Austin Trail of Lights begins with a ceremonial “flipping of the switch” by the winner of an essay contest for Austin ISD elementary school students. December 13: Christmas Shopping at Caliterra

30 artists and vendors will gather at the Caliterra residential community to sell handmade holiday gifts for the community’s second annual event. 5-9 p.m. There will be hot chocolate, coffee, wine and appetizers at this free event! December 13-24: Armadillo Christmas Bazaar

The 44th annual Armadillo Christmas Bazaar is here! This seasonal bazaar is a multi-day holiday shopping extravaganza with offerings from local and touring artists. December 14: A Pioneer Christmas
